The night featured live performances, a photographic exhibition, and a GoFundMe campaign benefiting Fundació Arrels, a Barcelona-based organization dedicated to supporting people experiencing homelessness through shelter, resources, and long term assistance. In the spirit of Robert’s generosity and care for community, all proceeds from the sale of the exhibition prints were donated to the organization. MORE ABOUT Fundació Arrels HERE.

This fundraiser tells the story of Robert Marquez, also known as Bobby Bastos and Snortella de Line.
Robert was an artist, a storyteller, and a quietly powerful activist. In Barcelona, he inspired many people to find their own voices through drag, storytelling, stand-up comedy, and other forms of artistic expression. He encouraged others to create, to take space, and to believe in themselves.
Beyond his public presence, Robert was deeply generous in private. He supported many people through difficult moments, both emo- tionally and, when possible, financially. For those close to him, helping others was simply part of who he was. Supporting people without shelter in Barcelona mattered deeply to him.
We created this fundraiser in memory of Robert, to honor what truly defined him: solidarity, dignity, and deep care for others. He was a generous and compassionate person, deeply affected by social injustice and especially moved by the situation of people experiencing homelessness. Today, we want to transform the pain of his absence into a real and meaningful action that reflects his values.
All funds raised will be donated to Arrels Fundació, an organization based in Barcelona that has been supporting people experiencing homelessness for decades. Arrels works to ensure that no one is forced to live on the streets by providing direct assistance, social support, access to healthcare, and long-term help focused on restoring dignity and independence.
ROBERT MARQUEZ EXHIBITION
Also known as Bobby Bastos and Snortella de Line, was a multidisciplinary performer whose work explored identity, humor, resilience, and transformation. Born in Los Angeles and later based in Barcelona, he built a creative life rooted in storytelling through stand-up comedy, radio, performance, and visual collaboration. As Bobby Bastos, he was known for sharp observational humor delivered with honesty and vulnerability. In contrast, his drag persona Snortella de Line was theatrical, irreverent, and boldly expressive an extension of his creative voice that used exaggeration and satire to challenge norms and celebrate visibility..
This exhibition moves between these layered identities, presenting portraits of Robert as comedian, performer, and drag artist alongside photographic collages he actively helped shape, blurring the line between subject and creator. Together, the works reflect a life lived in multiplicity constantly evolving and refusing simplification. The exhibition stands as a visual remembrance of Robert Marquez: a record of becoming, a celebration of creative freedom, and a tribute to the courage it takes to be fully seen.
DAVID CALDWEL EXHIBITION
Is a British photographer from Warrington, UK, whose early fascination with photography began as a child capturing sunsets. After years of experimenting with film and later digital photography, he moved to Barcelona in 2017, where he began documenting the city’s creative life from street sports and musicians to the vibrant local comedy scene. Over the past two years, his work has focused on photographing comedians both on and off stage, capturing the spontaneity, emotion, and energy of live performance.
This exhibition includes a series of rare black-and-white images of the late Robert Marquez, taken during his performances across various stages in Barcelona. Through candid, in-the-moment photography, Caldwell preserves fleeting expressions and gestures that reveal both Robert’s commanding stage presence and moments of vulnerability behind the performer’s mask. Having come to know Robert personally, Caldwell recognized not only his charisma but also his warmth and generosity, particularly in encouraging new talent qualities that live on through these photographs.
