Was a project spearheaded by the Pink Ribbon Foundation UK and sponsored by Valspar Paint UK and the Sunday Express. As a corporate partner of the Foundation, Valspar have created two special pink hues, ‘Pink Ribbon Care’ and ‘Pink Ribbon Support’ both of which make a donation to the Pink Ribbon Foundation for each can sold to support those affected by breast cancer.
These two pink shades were the primary colours used by fine artist and body painter Filippo ioco in painting the 8 x 20 ft canvas painting used for the project’s backdrop.
Nine people affected by breast cancer were chosen to participate and be body painted / loosely camouflaged into the canvas painting by Filippo and his team of artists.
The models consisted of eight women of different ages and backgrounds with different breast cancer stories – this number reflects the 1 in 8 women who will be diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime … plus one male, which will highlight the disproportionate diagnosis of male breast cancer, which stands at 1%.
